Are you enthusiastic and enjoy spending your day painting, being messy, singing, dancing and being silly? Can you work well with a team, act as a role model and demonstrate clear initiative? Well, Wee Mack’s Nursery are currently looking for staff to join our small, friendly team in the role of Early Years Practitioner based in our Baby Room.Wee Mack’s Nursery is a newly opened private day setting for children aged 6 months to 5 years in Leith, Edinburgh. The nursery is within a large church building, with ample indoor and outdoor space for all age groups. We ask that you be qualified to HNC or SVQ 3 level in childcare and education or social services for children and young people and have at least 2 years of experience working with children. If you are not qualified, but have experience working with young children and would like to look into a new career, we are happy to accept your application but we will require you to complete a qualification as a condition of employment. We currently have 2 positions available: both starting just before January where possible. Both positions are in our baby room. Essential knowledge and experience: Sound knowledge of Realising the Ambition, GIRFEC, Child Protection/Safeguarding, Experience working with families and young people (preferably in a childcare setting), Experience caring for children under the age of 2 Key tasks/ responsibilities: Ensure the health and safety of all children in the setting, Provide high quality learning and education, Manage the day-to-day routine with assistance of other staff members, Observe and record children’s learning using our Eylog system (training will be given), Oversee children’s learning as a key worker, Assist with promoting further development within the nursery in general, Further responsibilities will be included in a job description, available upon request and prior to any interview offers. Other duties may be required as and when requested by the Manager. So, why work for us?
