This qualification is crucial for all those undertaking the Level 2 Children and Young People’s Apprenticeship.

Who is it suitable for?

Anybody who is looking to work in, or has just begun working in, the children and young people’s workforce.

What are the entry requirements?

You must be at least 16 years old.

How many credits are required to complete it?

The Certificate requires 35 credits.

How is it assessed?

It will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a variety of methods. This may include direct observation in the workplace, an evidence portfolio, submitted written assignments or evaluated tasks.

Do you need to be working to take the qualification?

Yes, you will need to be in work, volunteering or on a practical placement, as you need to show practical competence in your knowledge and skills.

What related qualifications can you progress to?

This qualification offers a direct route to the Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce, as they have some of the same units.
