Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC)
Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) is a framework designed to support children and young people who need it. GIRFEC provides a consistent approach to encourage open and communicative relationships between the child, their family and all agencies involved. The GIRFEC framework provides a structured approach of how to assess children's wellbeing and plan for children's needs. During this process, there is a direct emphasis to ensure that the child is at the centre of everything that is happening. The new approach brings children and their families into the discussion surrounding the support that is needed.
