Introduction to Schemas

Designed for all early years practitioners, this The CPD Service accredited course introduces you to schemas in children's play.Children's well-being is at the heart of everything we do. As practitioners, we are responsible for offering quality learning experiences appropriate to developmental stage, interests and learning styles of each child to foster well-being. This course will introduce you to the nine different types of schemas that children will display as they grow and develop in their natural environment, how they work and how to identify and understand them. This course will introduce you to the different types of schemas that babies and children display in their day-to-day life.You will develop a greater appreciation of how learning and development takes place as we provide for individual learning styles.Aims:Look at different theories relating to play, learning and development and schemasUnderstand the type of schematic behaviour you may see in a child in your settingReview the characteristics of each schema typeUnderstand how to support schematic behaviour in your setting
