Recognising and Supporting Children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

In July 2017, the UK government released figures showing that 1,244,255 children had been recognised as having special educational needs.Recognising children have different needs also acknowledges that ensuring their individual developmental needs are met can be a broad task.Children learn and develop using different methods at different rates, but there is an overall guideline to make sure they're generally meeting expectations in their development.By using these guidelines as a comparison, it creates the ability to identify problem areas to offer additional support or alternative learning methods to assist development.Additionally, if the situation continues, this course helps identify more serious learning difficulties and how to support any special educational needs that arise.Recognising and Supporting Children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is a crucial element for all Early Years settings.
