School Readiness

Despite common assumptions, being 'school ready' doesn't describe a long list of tasks a child should be able to complete before they start school. Rather, it requires that children are confident and inquisitive individuals who are ready to learn in the most structured setting they will have ever entered. As an early years professional, you have a significant role in supporting children and their parents to prepare for the transition into primary school. This course will describe the importance of school readiness, the school readiness paradigm and how you can support children everyday to prepare them for primary school.
