Adult Support and Protection

Supporting and protecting adults despite their physical, emotional and mental needs is important as not all adults are able to safeguard themselves and/or their possessions.  This course gives an awareness into Adult Support and Protection by looking at the introduction of the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007 as well as the ways you may need to refer someone in your care who is vulnerable and who you feel may have a safety or protection concern.We will look at what harm is, the ways referrals can be carried out, the different professional bodies involved in Adult Support and Protection, as well as the need to include the wishes of those within your care.
